Comment: Methane Standards Will Slow Climate Change and Protect Pennsylvanians

The Rachel Carson Building in Harrisburg houses the PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).

Pennsylvania is in the process of implementing federal performance standards for existing sources of methane pollution, which contributes to climate change and endangers human health. In a July 30 letter, PEC and Environmental Defense Fund submitted joint comments on the PA Department of Environmental Protection’s (DEP) implementation plan, urging DEP to adopt proven and durable protections that will help secure our state’s leadership in sound energy development. The letter expands upon comments offered by PEC at a DEP hearing earlier in the month.
