PEC Policy Conference

October 13, 2015

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) will host its second annual environmental policy conference, which will be held on Oct. 13, 2015 at the Hilton Hotel in Harrisburg, Pa.

The all-day forum will be focused on the biggest environmental opportunities and challenges facing Pennsylvania, including state implementation of the soon-to-be-announced Federal Clean Power Plan, achieving 2017 pollution reduction goals for the Chesapeake Bay watershed, and the implementation of community stormwater management programs.

Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Secretary John Quigley will provide the keynote address for the conference.

“The next two to three years are going to rewrite Pennsylvania’s approach to dealing with climate change and water resource protection,” said President and CEO Davitt Woodwell. “As with last year, our aim for the conference is to have an open dialog from key players to get a sense of where our state can go, and what we can accomplish. It’s time to move forward on these issues.”

Last year’s event also featured all four Chairs of the Senate and House Environmental Resources & Energy Committees from the General Assembly. They have been invited to participate again this year.
