Environment Ride 2025

Gettysburg HO!
We’ll explore the vibrant and charming town of Gettysburg this year, as well as riding the rolling landscape that includes Pennsylvania’s most extensive Fruit Belt ! Think applesauce and apple juice!
The ride will begin on Friday morning, where we’ll board Amtrak at Philadelphia’s 30th St. Station and head to Harrisburg. We’ll stop for lunch after the first 8-10 miles, then continue onwards to Gettysburg (another 35 miles), arriving in plenty of time for a group happy hour and dinner at a historic inn that sat in the crossfire of the Union and Confederate armies.
Saturday, our longest day, we’ll ride a bit of the battlefield and then launch off to South Mountain and the Fruit Belt. After lunch at a celebrated brewpub and visit to the iconic Round Barn, we’ll ride the rolling hills of the greatest expanse of orchards in Pennsylvania and back to town. Again, we’ll enjoy each other’s company with happy hour and dinner at local spots.
Sunday, we’ll explore more of the historic battlefield and then turn northward to the hills of South Mountain and the scenic valley of the Yellow Breeches Creek a designated PA Water Trail. We’ll conclude our weekend in downtown Harrisburg with a late lunch and refreshments.
