CANCELLED: Tree Planting in Gallitzin State Forest

UPDATED 3/23/20: We have been closely monitoring the developments regarding the coronavirus and the recommendations prescribed by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) as well as state and local officials. Out of an abundance of caution and with the health and safety of all attendees in mind, we are postponing the volunteer planting that was to be held on May 9, 2020. We urge everyone to familiarize themselves with the guidance issued by the CDC for preventing the spread of the virus (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/index.html). We will keep you informed of any decisions regarding rescheduling. Thank you for your understanding.
PEC, DEP, and DCNR need your help to plant trees in Gallitzin State Forest to further efforts of the Appalachian Regional Reforestation Initiative.
The event will be held rain or shine. Be sure to wear boots or sturdy shoes. We’ll take care of the rest, including food, transportation to the site, gloves, and tools.
The event will be capped at 40 individuals.
