Zhenya “Z” Nalywayko first came to PEC as a Graduate Fellow in 2016, while studying environmental planning and urban design at the University of Pennsylvania’s graduate School of Design. In 2020 he returned as a full-time Program Coordinator, working to expand the Circuit Trails system and promote outdoor recreation in southeastern Pennsylvania.
A Connecticut native with family across Pennsylvania and roots in greater Philadelphia, Zhenya previously held positions with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation, Group Melvin Design, and Pennoni Associates, Inc., where he engaged in environmental planning, urban design, community outreach, and graphic design. As a member of the PEC Trails team, his projects include trail development in Bucks, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties. Zhenya also helps out statewide designing reports, programs, and other materials as assigned.
Zhenya holds a B.A. in Geography and Urban Studies from Temple University and an M.C.P. in City and Regional Planning from Penn.
