Debra Frawley joined PEC’s staff full time in July 2016, bringing years of trails and greenways experience with her. Frawley will focus on providing technical assistance on regional trail projects in Northwest Pennsylvania and work to advance the goals of the Industrial Heartland Trails Coalition. Additionally, she will provide assistance to planners with GoToTrails, a GIS web-based mapping tool.
Frawley comes to PEC having worked most recently as the Greenways Coordinator for the Council on Greenways & Trails for seven years, where she was responsible for coordination, prioritizing, planning, design, development, and maintenance of all efforts related to greenways, both natural conservation corridors and recreation/transportation trails. She previously worked as a planner with the Venango County Regional Planning Commission and as a watershed coordinator with both the Little Beaver Creek Land Foundation and Columbiana Soil and Water Conservation District in Ohio.
Currently working towards her Masters in Parks and Public Land Management at Indiana University-Bloomington, Frawley holds a B.S. in Parks & Recreation/Natural Resource Management from Slippery Rock University and a certificate in Watershed Management from the Ohio Watershed Academy. She enjoys hiking and kayaking (usually with a camera) as well as crafting on a rainy day.
