Joining PEC in February, Maguire has made an immediate impact as a driving force in PEC’s statewide trail work. Since his arrival, Maguire’s work has focused on the Industrial Heartland Trails Coalition and the trail gaps in Western Pennsylvania as well as parts of Ohio, West Virginia, and New York. He is also partnering to expand the Circuit Trail Network from the Philadelphia region into Northeast Pennsylvania.

“As trails throughout the state continue to develop, we get closer to our goal of achieving a truly statewide trail network,” PEC President Davitt Woodwell said. “Frank will now be responsible for working with and leading staff in all of our offices as we leverage our experience across the Commonwealth.”

With over a decade of experience in trail work with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, and the National Park Service, Maguire also manages the Pennsylvania Water Trails Program, a statewide partnership that encourages the development and use of water trails across the state.
