HARMONY TWP. — Dana Rockwell peeled back the flaps of a grimy garbage bag left near one of his favorite swimming holes on Starrucca Creek.
A disappointed scowl crossed his face as the bag revealed paint cans tossed carelessly in the spot he and his childhood friends dubbed “the Rocks.”
A registered nurse and father of four from Susquehanna Depot, Mr. Rockwell unfurled his own garbage bag and put the cans and other trash strewn about the Rocks inside before cinching it closed with duct tape.
For the last four years, Mr. Rockwell has led a group of volunteers to clean up Starrucca Creek — a tributary to the Susquehanna River that passes through Wayne and Susquehanna counties…
