Noteworthy: One of two Americans to receive this year’s McCloy Fellowship in Environmental Policy through the American Council on Germany, which will allow her to spend three weeks in four German cities studying energy policies and integration.

Age: 32

Education: Bachelor of arts in environmental studies from Allegheny College; master’s of science in environmental science and management from Duquesne University; certificate in renewable energy from St. Francis University in Loretto

Occupation: Program manager for energy and climate at the Strip District-based Pennsylvania Environmental Council

Background: Was the City of Pittsburgh’s first sustainability coordinator before joining PEC in 2011

About her job: Works on programs related to renewables, energy efficiency and climate protection, focusing on projects such as low-impact hydro power

About the fellowship: She will look at how Germany has integrated increasing amounts of renewable energy into its electrical grid and the challenges that have come with that.
