Wayne County Community Illegal Dumpsite Cleanup

In partnership with Aldenville Log and Lumber and local governing bodies, PEC will host a dumpsite cleanup in Wayne County focusing on cleaning up trash, metals, tires, and debris located in and along the banks of the Lackawaxen River in Aldenville. Volunteers are asked to dress appropriately.

On the morning of the cleanup, volunteers will gather in the Aldenville Log and Lumber parking lot for registration and instructions located at 936 Creed Drive, Prompton. After registration, volunteers will be provided with work gloves, trash bags, and safety vest. When supplies are distributed and instructions have been provided, volunteers will begin the cleanup. Aldenville
Log and Lumber will provide lunch.

Families, individuals, scouting groups, 4H groups, environmental organizations, businesses, colleges, universities, and high school clubs and students are invited to be part of this effort. (Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or have a parent/guardian sign a registration/insurance form prior to the cleanup and bring it with them. Anyone over 18 can sign the insurance form the day of the event.)

Site is located just off Route 6, (between Honesdale &
Carbondale) on Route 170 North just four miles past the
Prompton Dam

From Scranton take 81 N, take Exit 187 for US 6 E toward
Carbondale, Continue on US-6 E, Turn left onto PA-296 N /
Belmont St./Belmont Turnpike, Turn right onto White Oak Dr.,
Turn right onto PA-170S
