Trail Opening Celebration in Phoenixville-Port Providence

Join us to celebrate the newly opened portion of the Schuylkill River Trail along the former canal towpath in Mont Clare. Enjoy kayaking in the canal, take a stroll on the path with a walking tour, check out a bike and pedal the trail – all FREE! There will also be three free walking tours (half hour-45 minutes each).
Free Walking Tour Schedule
10:30 a.m. – Three Revolutions of the Schuylkill
Learn the integral role the Schuylkill River has played in the Revolutionary, Industrial, and Environmental Revolutions.
11:30 a.m. – Nature Calls
Walk the trail with a local nature expert and explore the sights and sounds of the trail while you identify plants and animals along the way.
12:30 p.m – Shad War
Learn how the farmers and fishermen went to war over the river and the Naval engagement of the Schuylkill River!
