Statewide Conference for Watershed Organizations

November 7, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - November 8, 2021 @ 5:00 pm

POWR will be hosting a combined hybrid (in-person/virtual) Statewide Conference for Watershed Organizations on November 7-8, 2021 at the Wyndham Gardens Hotel and Conference Center in State College, PA.

We are excited to announce that Dr. Michael Mann, Distinguished Professor of Atmospheric Science at Penn State, will deliver the Keynote address on Monday, November 8. Dr. Mann is the author of several books including his most recent work, The Madhouse Effect, which features cartoons by Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoonist Tom Toles.

The Opening Plenary, scheduled for Sunday afternoon will include a short “story telling” workshop presented by Dr. Bethany Wiggin, Founding Director, Penn Program in Environmental Humanities and Affiliated Faculty of the University of Pennsylvania. The workshop will be followed by an opportunity for attendees to share their stories of ‘adaptability, resilience, and innovation” over the past two years.

Concurrent tracks led by subject matter experts on topics such as Aquatic Science and Monitoring, Watershed Restoration Strategies, Watershed Policy, and Organizational Capacity will offer an opportunity to attend presentations that best fit your organization’s needs and objectives for enhanced water resource protection, restoration, and outreach efforts.

Registration fees for the full conference, single day, and remote access have yet to be finalized. Registration will open at the end of September. Scholarship applications will also be available at that time.
