Quantum Theatre Presents: The River

Few images reflect life as clearly as a river. So it’s only fitting that Quantum’s Pittsburgh premiere of Jez Butterworth’s heralded play The River should be performed on the banks of the Allegheny, itself a symbol of our city’s life force.

Devoted to bringing theatre to all communities and corners of the greater Pittsburgh area, Quantum Theatre announces its first production ever in Aspinwall. “Theatre brings people together,” playwright Butterworth has said, and the sentiment is echoed by Artistic Director Karla Boos: “The River marks a perfect union of theatre and place—and is, in fact, a clear and true reflection of our Company’s mission of presenting experiential theatre that is in every way place-specific and unique.”

The play will run each night from Oct. 7-30 at Quantum Theatre in Aspinwall Riverfront Park. Performances run from Wednesday’s-Saturday’s at 8 p.m., Sunday’s at 7 p.m., and two Tuesday performances on Oct. 18 and 25 at 7 p.m.
