Community Illegal Dumpsite Cleanup: Susquehanna County

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council, in partnership with DTE Energy, Blue Ridge High School Honor Society, Green Gables Restaurant, and New Milford Hardware, and in conjunction with the International Coastal Cleanup, will conduct a Community Illegal Dumpsite Cleanup:

  • Tuesday, October 29, 2019
  • Rain Date:  November 7, 2019
  • New Milford Borough
  • From 9:30 am – 3:00 pm

This event will focus on cleaning up illegally dumped tires along Route 11 in the wetlands across from the New Milford Hardware store. Volunteers are asked to dress appropriately. Our partners will be on site to assist in this cleanup. Food and drinks will be provided.

On the day of the cleanup, volunteers will gather for registration and instructions. After registration, volunteers will be provided with work gloves and safety vest. When supplies are distributed, and instructions have been given, volunteers will begin the cleanup.

Families, individuals, scouting groups, 4H groups, environmental clubs, businesses, college and university clubs, and high school students are invited to be part of this effort. (Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or have a parent/guardian sign a registration/insurance form prior to the cleanup and bring it with them. Anyone over 18 can sign the insurance form the day of the event.)

From Halstead: Take US 11 South. Go about 7 miles to New Milford Hardware.
From Montrose: Take PA-167S/PA-706E. Turn left onto US-11N to New Milford Hardware.
Volunteers can park near the New Milford Hardware store.
