Community Illegal Dumpsite Cleanup: Starrucca Creek, Susquehanna County

April 28, 2018 - April 29, 2018

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council in partnership with Friends of Starrucca Creek in conjunction with Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful will conduct a cleanup of illegal dumpsites in Susquehanna County on April 28-9.

This event will focus on cleaning up illegally dumped trash, tires and debris in and throughout Starrucca Creek. Volunteers will meet in Stevens Point, at the Harmony Township Building located at the intersection of Route 1009 and Rockwell Road.

On the morning of the cleanup, volunteers will gather for registration and instructions. After registration, volunteers will be provided with work gloves, trash bags and safety vest. When supplies are distributed, and instructions have been provided, volunteers will begin the cleanup. Free lunch & dinner will be provided to all participants. This is a rain or shine event.

Families, individuals, scouting groups, 4H groups, environmental clubs, businesses, college and university clubs and high school students are invited to be part of this effort. (Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or have a parent/guardian sign a registration/insurance form prior to the cleanup and bring it with them. Anyone over 18 can sign the insurance form the day of the event.)

From Susquehanna Boro take E Main St.
Stay on Main St turning slight right to Viaduct St./St. Rte. 1009 Continue onto State Rte 1009/Starrucca Creek Road
Turn left on Rockwell Road
