5th Annual Richard L. James Lecture: A Climate-Ready City

Sarah Wu, Director of Planning in the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, will headline a lecture focusing on how Philadelphia is preparing for climate change.
Wu will present the city’s findings from its recently published “Growing Stronger: Toward a Climate-Ready Philadelphia” report, one that cites an increase in temperature and a rise in the Delaware River.
The lecture will also feature a panel of renowned Philadelphia scientists, activists, and policy experts including:
David Masur, executive director of Penn Environment and chair of Mayor Jim Kenney’s sustainability transition team
Raluca Ellis, Ph.D., environmental scientist for the Franklin Institute and director of the regional Climate & Urban Systems Partnership
Dr. Poune Saberi, board member for Physicians for Social Responsibility
Saleem Chapman, policy and advocacy manager for the Sustainable Business Network
