2022 PEC Environment Ride

Why Participate in the Ride?
As a statewide non-profit, PEC is a leader in trail planning and development across the Commonwealth. The Environment Ride supports PEC’s trail work.
Overview: On the Ride
3-day ride
On Friday, September 9th, riders will meet at 30th Street Station and ride to our starting point in Norristown. We plan to stop by the Wharton Esherick House and Museum in Malvern and hope to have lunch there. Our night will be spent at West Chester’s beautiful Hotel Warner, after dinner and drinks downtown. The expected distance is a hilly 32 miles.
Saturday morning, riders will have the option to choose to ride either 60 or 100 miles (with the possibility of another shorter route) with sections of gravel and dirt roads for those who wish. There will be the option to stay on pavement. Saturday night, we will return to Hotel Warner.
On Sunday, the final day of the ride, we will ride from West Chester to Philly via the Main Line. This route will be around 60-65 miles, with the option to do a shorter route if desired. We’ll end our ride at Philadelphia’s beautiful Boat House Row to celebrate with friends and family!

By popular demand, we are once again offering a one-day route option.
COVID-19:
As we head back to in-person events and responses to COVID-19 continue to evolve, PEC will be monitoring guidance from the CDC and others in order to have appropriate safety protocols in place at our events. These may vary based on the type of event and other factors and may include masking and social distance requirements, proof of vaccination, and/or other precautions. Crew & Volunteers
Volunteers are welcomed in many capacities: to support the riders with logistics, safety, and fun! Crew travel with the Ride, enjoying meals and overnight accommodations. Volunteers may also raise money for PEC without riding!
Teams
Share the love for Pennsylvania’s environment – form a team! Being part of a team is a great way to build support! Any group of three or more can ride together and share the experience from start to finish! You will have both an individual as well as a shared team fundraising account.
