2019 NEPA Trails Symposium

May 14, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

You’re invited to take part in a day-long event focusing on the importance of trails in Pennsylvania and how trails and bicycling can improve your communities.

The sixth annual Northeastern Pennsylvania Trails Symposium is a networking and educational event designed for trail sponsors and supporters, alike. This free-to-attend event will provide an informal setting to share opportunities, challenges and solutions with like-minded peers before embarking on an optional 20-mile bike ride from Ararat back to Carbondale.

We will hear from DCNR‘s Alex MacDonald who will give a presentation of the “State of the Trails,” followed by our keynote speaker, Russ Roca from The Path Less Pedaled, who will speak about bicycle-focused tourism and using storytelling to inspire bicycle travel.

The event begins at 8:30 at the Anthracite Center in Carbondale, PA. Following lunch, participants are invited to enjoy a 20-mile bike ride from Ararat to Carbondale. Transportation is included. There is no fee.

Please contact April Rogato, at [email protected] or 570-963-6730, by May 9th to register for the sixth annual event.
