Cindy Ferguson came to PEC in 2010 as its Director of Operations for the Southeast Regional Office and now serves as PEC’s Director of Development. Prior to joining PEC, Ferguson had worked more than 20 years at the senior and executive levels in the Philadelphia non-profit education/social service sector. She served as the Executive Director of Community Women’s Education Project and as Director of Project H.O.M.E.’s Honickman Learning Center Comcast Technology Labs.
During this time she also served as a Commissioner for the Mayor’s Commission on Literacy and on the Boards of Women’s Way, the Eastern Philadelphia Organizing Project, and the Community Partnership School. In making the career change that brought her to PEC, Ferguson decided to marry avocation with vocation and redirect her professional skills to help advance a strong conservation agenda.
Her path to PEC started many years ago with a deeply held commitment to the protection of the environment and the wildlife that depends on it. That commitment has guided her charitable giving and how she spends her personal time—birding, hiking, and photographing nature. Ferguson received her B.A. in French from Rider University, is a 1997 graduate of Leadership Philadelphia, and a 2009 Fellow of Bryn Mawr College’s Non-Profit Executive Leadership Institute.
