PEC Policy Conference Media Center

On Oct. 13, the Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) hosted its second annual Environmental Policy Conference at the Hilton Hotel in Harrisburg, Pa.

The all-day forum focused on the biggest environmental opportunities and challenges facing Pennsylvania, including legislation, state implementation of the soon-to-be-announced Federal Clean Power Plan, achieving 2017 pollution reduction goals for the Chesapeake Bay watershed, and community stormwater management programs.

As each panel concluded, select panelists took some time to reflect on the recently concluded conference in a series of short videos:

Representative Greg Vitali

Representative Greg Vitali, minority chair of the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee, discusses Gov. Wolf’s proposed Energy Investment Initiative and the recent update to the Climate Impact Assessment for Pennsylvania.

Representative Vitali participated in the morning’s legislative panel.

 

Representative Kate Harper

Joining Representative Vitali on the legislative panel, Representative Kate Harper took a moment to discuss her views about the Pennsylvania Environmental Council and all the work it does across the state.

 

Kathleen Robertson

Exelon’s environmental fuels and policy manager Kathleen Robertson discusses the need for business certainty in Gov. Wolf’s proposed Pennsylvania Clean Energy Plan.

Robertson participated in the panel on Pennsylvania and the Clean Power Plan.

 

Lee Ann Murray

Lee Ann Murray, assistant director and staff attorney of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation discusses the challenges and opportunities surrounding remediation of the bay at the 2015 PEC Policy Conference in Harrisburg.

Murray was the moderator during the panel on the Chesapeake Bay’s challenges and opportunities.

 

John Schombert

John Schombert, executive director of 3 Rivers Wet Weather, discusses the issues of controlling stormwater management and CSO’s throughout Pennsylvania.

Schombert was a member of the day’s final panel on stormwater management & municipal separate storm sewer systems.
