The German Energy Transition Away from Coal: Perspectives for Pennsylvania

The international speaker, Timon Werkhert, and regional panel presenters will be discussing various perspectives on how Germany transitioned away from coal to renewable energy and other economic development projects in their country and to draw comparisons to the current state of coal mining in Northeastern PA. Video Innovations will be taping the lecture, panel presenters, and any audience questions.

EPCAMR Staff will be taking Timon on a tour of the Northern Anthracite Coalfields early in the day to show him the current state of affairs related to reclamation and economic redevelopment following the fall of the coal industry in the region.
